A rare Swedish Gustavian period buffet, late 18th century, retaining its original yellow-painted surface with beautifully aged patina. The warm ochre tone, scraped back to its authentic finish, reveals centuries of wear and history, making this a truly character-rich piece. The buffet is designed with a single drawer above a pair of paneled cabinet doors, each framed with diamond-shaped cartouches that add geometric refinement to the otherwise restrained form.

The top has been later repainted in a soft blue, contrasting gently with the vibrant yellow base and lending the piece a unique two-tone presence. Resting on a shaped plinth base with cut-out detailing, the proportions remain balanced and distinctly Gustavian—celebrating neoclassical simplicity infused with rustic Swedish charm.

Practical in scale, this buffet offers storage while serving as a statement piece in a dining room, entryway, or living space. Its authenticity and original painted surface make it a collector-worthy example of Gustavian furniture.
