Description
A Regency Lyre Form Rosewood And Giltwood Console Table With Brass Inlay And Giltbrass Mounts Unusually Set With Fabric Panels To Front And Sides
The top with geometric lobed corners and complex brass inlay. The edge set with fine gilt brass bead and twist molding. The cavetto undermold above a frieze set with gilt brass trellis. The profoundly curved and voluted sides with gilt channeled center and gilt brass rosettes enclosing a central upholstered panel. Centered by eight gilt brass 'lyre strings'. The side also set with panels of fabric. The whole raised on four out-curved giltwood leonine feet. Minor repairs. Small trellis section missing to side; patea missing to back lower scroll; formerly with detachable panel to back.
