Of giltwood and gilt pewter, blue glass and mirror glass. The domed crest outlined with ribbed molding contains a system of blue glass and mirror plates with gilt pewter molded framing centered by a bordered circular motif set with paterae. The lower section with rectangular mirror plate and reeded molded borders. The four long blue glass sections of the border mounted with interlocking oval and circular designs in gilt pewter. The four square corners with blank blue glass panels. One blue border panel with old fracture.

Hollywood Regency describes a movement within the American decorative arts of the 1930s and and 1940s, which incorporates features drawn from the early 19th century architectural styles of England, France, and United States; these elements are enlivened and enriched with the glamour of the eponymous movie-making industry in southern California, where the style was born. On-screen opulence was translated into eclectic and ornamented interior and exterior architecture commissioned by wealthy patrons. The present piece embodies the Hollywood Regency influence in its use of bold color contrasted with metallic and glass accents.

    Research report available on request.
