Description
Abraham Sprij 'Siegfried' Coffee Table in Solid Oak The Netherlands 1960s
A wonderful Abraham Sprij 'Siegfried' Coffee Table in Solid Oak. The Netherlands, 1960s.
This round coffee table in solid oak features a very distinct yet elegant design. The round top is supported by a totem-like stem in carved solid oak with three stepped feet. The almost Constantin Brâncuși inspired shape of the base is very different to what you’d normally see and makes this table very interesting.
Great quality and heavy execution. This table was purchased in 1966 and comes straight from their first owner.
Comes in a good vintage condition with some wear due to age and use.
Sprij Meubelen
Abraham Sprij started his workshop in 1932 in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. Having considerable succes with his ‘stijlmeubelen’ in solid oak, he later also opened a factory in Klundert. Sprij Meubelen was one of the earliest makers of furniture in solid oak, being a forerunner and visionary in creating a versatile and distinct range of high quality oak furniture in different styles - like Guillerme et Chambron (Votre Maison) did in France
