Serenissimo Dining Table by Lella & Massimo Vignelli for Acerbis, Italy, 1970s
-
Description
The Serenissimo dining table is an iconic design by Lella and Massimo Vignelli for Acerbis, dating from the 1970s. It features a square turquoise-green glass top paired with cylindrical legs in a matching encaustic finish, creating a striking yet balanced composition. The contrast between the translucent glass and the solid architectural base highlights the table’s minimalist and postmodern character. The table retains its original manufacturer’s tag, confirming its authenticity.
Lella and Massimo Vignelli were a husband-and-wife design team renowned for their influential contributions to modern design. They studied architecture in Venice, Italy, and in 1960 founded the Massimo and Lella Vignelli Office of Design and Architecture in Milan, working across graphics, product design, furniture, and interiors. In 1965 they co-founded Unimark International Corporation, followed by the establishment of Vignelli Associates in 1971, with its main office in New York and liaison offices in Paris and Milan. Their work has received numerous international awards, been widely published, and is represented in the permanent collections of major museums worldwide. - More Information
