Description
Some furniture is just furniture. And then, some furniture is a witness to history, luxury, and a lifetime of scandalously fabulous dinner parties. This 56” Carrara marble Eros dining table by Angelo Mangiarotti is very much the latter.
Designed in the 1970s and sourced from the original owner's son—none other than the former general manager of a Cartier boutique in Beverly Hills—this table has lived a life more glamorous than most of us could ever hope for. We’re talking Hollywood elite, late-night soirées, and deals brokered over dirty martinis and diamond-studded wrists. Imagine the Cartier jewels that were sold at this very table. The whispered gossip. The unspoken flirtations. The moments of “just put it on my tab” confidence. This table oozes quiet power and timeless allure.
Structurally, the Eros table is as much an architectural feat as it is a work of art. The solid, joint-free round Carrara marble top rests effortlessly on its sculptural cone-shaped base, held in place by the sheer force of gravity. No screws, no clamps—just pure Mangiarotti magic. And at 56” in diameter (a rare, larger size), this piece comfortably seats six (176" circumference), perfect for intimate dinner parties where secrets are shared, alliances are formed, and maybe—just maybe—a priceless Cartier bracelet gets slipped under the table as a gift to a very lucky guest.
Condition? Fabulous. No chips, no deep scratches—just a light patina of history, adding to its effortlessly chic, “Oh this? It’s vintage” charm. After all, it’s been tucked away in a pristine formal dining room for the last 25 years, untouched. Waiting. Patiently. For you.
If you want a table that’s just a table, keep scrolling. However, if you want a piece of Italian design history with a backstory that’ll make your dinner guests green with envy-- this is it.
Are you ready to own the table that’s seen it all? Because once it’s gone, it’s gone. And trust us, you don’t just want this table.
You need it. -
