This refined Italian Directoire writing desk, dating to the early 19th century, showcases the minimalist elegance and architectural precision associated with the Directoire period.
Masterfully crafted in solid walnut, the desk features a rectangular top bordered with ebonized trim, a sophisticated detail that frames the warm, figured grain of the wood.

Below, a pair of shallow frieze drawers and two side drawers provide ample storage for writing tools or personal items, each retaining its original brass hardware. The desk stands on four tapered legs, a hallmark of the Directoire style, offering a strong linear silhouette that balances form and function.
