Description
Pair of Art Deco pedestals combining sculptural hand-wrought iron with rich variegated marble tops. Each pedestal is constructed with a stacked, tiered iron base — flat banded slats separated by hand-hammered spherical ball feet — creating a rhythmic, architectural silhouette characteristic of the period's finest ironwork. The uprights are hand-forged with a hammered, faceted texture and terminate in bold scrolling motifs, evoking the sinuous, controlled curves associated with the workshop of Edgar Brandt, whose innovative treatment of wrought iron helped define French Art Deco design.
Each pedestal is surmounted by a substantial rectangular marble top with dramatic gold, ochre, and burgundy veining and a polished finish, the marble's warm coloration playing beautifully against the dark patina of the iron base. - More Information
