Description
Elegant set of four French Art Deco–inspired dining chairs, circa 1940s–50s, combining clean midcentury lines with the warmth of richly toned walnut. The tall, gently shaped backs are framed by sculpted walnut uprights that continue into slender, tapering rear legs, giving the silhouette a light, vertical rhythm.
Each chair features a generous, serpentine front seat rail and splayed front legs, emphasizing the geometric yet softened profile typical of late Art Deco and early modern French seating. The seats and backs have been recently reupholstered in a crisp ivory/white textured fabric, providing a fresh, neutral counterpoint to the darker wood and ready to integrate into both contemporary and traditional interiors.
The chairs are sturdy and comfortable, with well‑padded seats suitable for daily dining use or as side chairs around a game table, writing desk, or in a salon. Wood surfaces present a warm, even finish with minor, age‑appropriate traces of wear consistent with careful vintage use. Sold and priced as a set of four
reupholstery recommended. -
