Baker National Advertising Campaign, circa 1982. Baker President Philip E. Kelley announced that Baker “entered into an exclusive partnership with Alessandro to produce his modern furniture designs and styling. The Alessandro Collection epitomizes furniture as art and sets a new standard in furniture available to consumers. Until now a consumer would have been able to acquire such design and handwork only by commissioning an artist to create a custom piece, at enormous cost.” Alessandro - then age 36 and pictured in the last photo of this listing - built the collection over the prior three years and produced 25 avant garde occasional and dining room pieces.
