Chateau Sized French Directoire Dining Table

$ 26,500
  • Description
    An elegant French Directoire oval dining table in mahogany with a gilt brass molded edge. The table is raised on six finely tapered square section legs ending in original brass box castors. Generously sized, it can seat up to 12 or 14, and removable leaves allow it to adapt readily for large gatherings or more intimate dinners. The six legs provide excellent support when the table is fully extended. The shallow apron preserves the table's graceful and uncluttered profile, and the table's restrained classical lines are enhanced by the warmth and character of its richly figured timber. Refined and useful. France circa 1800.
    Closed size 53 1/2" x 43" and can extend to 53 1/2" x 123 1/2" maximum with all the leaves in place (each leaf is 20" wide)
