Chinese Altar Table, Early 20th Century
-
Description
This is a very unusual and attractive early 20th century Chinese altar table. The form is heavily influenced by Art Deco which is revealed in the greek key and meander elements. The table is in overall very good condition--it is currently being polished with several coats of hard paste wax. The simplicity of design allows the table to be comfortable in many design aesthetics from 18th century through to mid-century. Its narrow profile allows the table to work well in hallways or a small dining room.
