Georgian Mahogany Serving Table
-
Description
Very fine Georgian mahogany serving table in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the nicely patinated top with cross banded edge, over fluted apron, the square tapered legs capped with carved patera and similarly fluted with spade feet, the whole with good rich color.
Chippendale provided a similar, but larger, sideboard table to Ninian Home for Paxton House. Other serving tables by or attributed to Chippendale Sr. and Junior are known and share similar stylistic and structural details. -
