Carlo Scarpa Sarpi table for Simon Gavina 1970s.

$ 7,000
  • Description
    Table designed by Carlo Scarpa in 1974 for Simon. Satin-finish drawn metal frame, visible burnished screws, brass top feet. Thick (1.5 mm) rectangular glass top. Carlo Scarpa was one of the finest Italian architects and designers of the 20th century, known for his extraordinary ability to fuse modernism, craftsmanship and historical tradition, particularly Venetian and Japanese. His work is distinguished by his obsessive attention to detail, materials, and light.

    Carlo Scarpa was distinguished by an approach to interior design that went far beyond mere functionality: his interiors were conceived as works of art and as spaces in continuous dialogue with light, materials and the history of the place.
