This rare table, accompanied by six matching stools, hails from the 1970s and stands as a notable creation by the Dutch Benedictine monk and architect Dom Hans van der Laan, alongside his apprentice Jan de Jong. It embodies the unique aesthetic of the Bossche School style, characterized by simplicity and harmony. The table, crafted from pinewood and painted grey, is accented with copper nails that lend it a natural yet sophisticated appearance. It follows van der Laan’s innovative "plastic number" ratio of 3:4, which ensures harmonious proportions and a balanced, minimalist design. Functional openings on the sides highlight the table's rational and utilitarian aspects, a hallmark of van der Laan’s approach.
