Rare table from the 1970s, designed by the Dutch Benedictine monk and architect Dom Hans van der Laan and his apprentice Jan de Jong, exemplifying the distinctive Bossche School style. Crafted from pinewood painted in grey and featuring copper nails, this table gives a natural yet refined aesthetic. Reflecting van der Laan’s innovative "plastic number" ratio of 3:4, it offers harmonious proportions and a balanced simplicity, with functional openings on the sides that enhance its rational design. This table is a testament to Dutch design history and van der Laan’s architectural legacy, prominently showcased in the St. Benedictusberg Abbey. Accompanied by documented provenance, we also have six matching stools available.
