Description
An 18th century East Anglian oak side table, the top with ogee molded edge over single drawer with two bronze pulls, standing on turned and tapered legs ending in pad feet, the whole with pleasing pale nutty color and patination.
During restoration a partial inscription was found underneath the top that reads: "This table was....ander Ditchingha...". The village of Ditchingham in Norfolk, East Anglia, lies just outside Bungay, the farthest navigable point along the Waveney River, which divides Norfolk and Suffolk. -
