Emerging in the post-war era, Brutalism became a dominant design philosophy in the 1950s and 1960s, and was characterised by its raw materiality and rejection of ornamentation. This aesthetic extended beyond architecture into furniture design, where it celebrated honesty of construction and emphasized the natural beauty of unrefined materials such as wood.

This coffee table reflects the Brutalist ethos through its bold presence and sculptural look. The table features a free-form top made from rich elm burl, its organic shape and swirling grain patterns showcase the wood’s natural drama.
