French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Petite Writing Desk
-
Description
Dimensions: 29 ¼” H x 35 ⅜” W x 21 ¾” D
An ingenious leather-topped mahogany writing desk with hidden extensions on each side to add occasional surface area. The leaves on the sides are a matcha green leather framed by gold tooling, whereas the cognac tone of the top surface is mottled in patina–which suits the beautiful striations of the mahogany grain. Two small drawers occupy the case, punctuating the apron front with small brass knobs of tiny rosette motif. Four, fluted legs (of classic Louis XVI design) taper elegantly down to the floor. At home or in an office, this antique mahogany desk will be a pleasure to work at. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax, ready to join your interior.
