French 19th Century Oak Dining Table from a Nunnery

Dimensions: 29 ⅜” H x 110 ¼” W x 44 ½” D

A substantial solid oak dining table from a French convent dating to the 1800’s. The long, solid oak planks forming the top surface span the entire length table table and stack almost four feet wide. Within the apron are 18 drawers total, nine on each side, providing storage for each nun’s Bible and cutlery. It is possible that a long bench would have been used on each side to accommodate the number of nuns seated on each side. Six turned, beveled legs with fluted detailing support the table. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique table is ready for your immediate use. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
