Description
Made in France in the twentieth century, this Louis XVI style flat desk is constructed in wood, with two pull-out slides at the sides and a frieze fitted with three drawers, the central drawer with a lock. The neoclassical lines of the Louis XVI style are seen in the restrained form and tapering legs. The flat-desk format, with a clear working top, suits use in the center of a room or against a wall, and the pull-out slides extend the surface when needed. The type of wood gives a warm, close-grained finish appropriate to a working desk. The three frieze drawers provide storage, with the central lock offering security. Suited to a study, office, or library, the desk combines a generous writing surface with practical storage. Its neoclassical character and clean lines allow it to work within both period interiors and plainer modern working rooms.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
