French Bamboo and Rattan Side Table
-
Description
This a beautifully graphic c. 1930's French woven rattan side table. The table features a fixed tray top surface with a coordinating lower shelf. The choice to use both a natural and an ebonized reed in the weaving makes this table a great eye-catcher--it is subtle, but elegant. The legs terminate in a modified bun foot. The weaving of the rattan constitutes a work of art. There are a couple of posts missing from the lower gallery; this minor loss does not compromise the beauty of the table, but rather adds to its character and authenticity.
