Description
This is a superior pair of Directoire late 18th century or early 19th century Marquis (bergere a la reine). The quality and rarity of these chairs, in addition to their beauty, speak for themselves. The chairs have retained their original surface which has acquired just the right of amount of natural patina. The painted details, although worn, are still present. The vintage leather upholstery (with down wrapped cushions) has acquired just the right amount of desirable natural patina. Period bergeres of this quality and condition are uncommon and very desirable, Marquis are even more so. Please contact us for additional photos or information.
