A French Louis XV period pewter lavabo on hand-carved walnut stand from the late 18th century, with shell motifs and acanthus leaves. Created in France at the end of the reign of king Louis XV nicknamed "The Beloved", this fountain features a two-part pewter lavabo, mounted on a walnut hand-carved structure. Adorned with a shell motif on the crest flanked with acanthus leaves, the fountain is resting on four slightly curving legs connected to one another through a carved apron on three sides. With its elegant décor, lovely proportions and complimenting colors, this French Louis XV lavabo fountain circa 1780 will bring a graceful decorative touch to any home.
