French Late Art Deco / Modern Neoclassical Desk / Console / Vanity in Walnut

Description
This desk / console with a simple, pure, modern design influenced French Art Deco in stunning matched walnut veneers and solid walnut. The piece features double columns legs on each side terminating in a scrolled base and united by a sober stretcher. They support a large central drawer and matched walnut top.
The main emblem of the desk is a luxurious hand sizzled and sculpted gilt bronze plate with two nymphs presenting an overflowing basket symbolizing the harvest and plenitude.
As one looks at this piece one sees it's past and future: all that came before it in the 18th century (Neoclassicism and enduring values) and all that will follow it in the 20th century: simplicity, modernity and sobriety. - More Information
