Description
A French Régence carved walnut writing table, early 18th century, the rectangular top inset with an old blind-tooled leather writing surface within a molded edge, above a shaped apron carved with a central shell flanked by foliate scrolls on a diapered ground, fitted with a pull-out drawer to each end. Raised on slender cabriole legs headed by carved shells and terminating in escargot feet. Richly patinated walnut; the leather old and worn consistent with age and use.
