French Walnut Cabaret Table with Frieze Drawer, Late 18th Century
-
Description
An authentic late 18th-century French cabaret table crafted in solid walnut. This refined and utilitarian form is characterized by its single frieze drawer, seamlessly integrated into the apron and retaining its original proportions. The rectangular top displays a well-preserved surface with visible grain and a rich, naturally aged patina consistent with its period.
The table stands on high, arched legs that taper gracefully and terminate in traditional clog feet, a defining feature of regional French furniture from the late 1700s. The silhouette is elegant yet restrained, balancing decorative presence with practical function.
An old restoration is present, executed in keeping with the table’s age and use, and the piece remains in good overall condition with sound structure and honest wear. Suitable as a side table, occasional table, or writing surface, this cabaret table offers both historical integrity and timeless appeal.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
