George II Gateleg Dining Table

$ 5,975
  • Description
    This is a stunning George II c. 1730 - 1740 solid Oak Gateleg/Drop Leaf Dining Table. The table was created nearly 300 years ago during the reign of George II (1727 - 1760). The table seems to be completely original, including its old surface. The legs feature minimally carved knees and well-defined pad feet. There is a drawer at one end for flatware which retains its original brass knob. The top surface has acquired a beautiful natural patina with lightening to the top more pronounced than the drop sides due to higher exposure to the sun and use. This gorgeous table could be placed in either a period-inspired dining roomT or a country or cottage kitchen. The table has been lightly cleaned and wax polished.
    **There was a normal separation of the top two boards which we have brought back together with an invisible brace. This restoration does not affect either the value or the beauty of the table.
