George Nakashima Extendable Walnut Dining Table Model 277 for Widdicomb, 1959

$ 18,500
  • Description
    An extendable walnut dining table by George Nakashima for Widdicomb Furniture Company from 1959.
    A line of bookmatched veneers encased by a 3 inch deep carved and finger joined solid walnut edge gives the top of the table an interesting contrast.
    The table measures 48 x 60 inches closed and has (2) 18 inch leaves.
    When fully extended the overall dimensions of the table are 48 by 96 inches.
    This is the widest oval dining table that George Nakashima designed for Widdicomb as part his Origins line of furniture.
    The table is labeled Widdicomb and stenciled Sherry with the model number 277 on the underside.
    The table was originally purchased with a set of eight RobsJohn-Gibbings arm chairs in 1959.
    The table is in excellent restored condition.
