Minguren I End Table
-
Description
This Minguren I end table exhibits the full range of warm hues visible in English Oak. George Nakashima once said, "it requires a genuine fight to produce one well designed object of relatively permanent value." One can imagine that the selection of a piece of oak with the variation in color exhibited here constituted a 'genuine fight,' indeed.
The thick, burl slab top is exceptional not only in its range of colors, but in the fissures and continuous free edges along the majority of its perimeter. The double-edged burl on the upper component of the Minguren base is another rare detail.
