Description
Officina Rivadossi, led by Giuseppe Rivadossi, has long been known for its devotion to traditional woodworking and material honesty. Each piece from the workshop carries with it a clear respect for structure, proportion, and the rhythm of hand tools. This dining table exemplifies that approach through form and construction.
Design
Built entirely from solid slovenian oak, the table rests on two symmetrical pillar-like bases, connected by a central stretcher. The construction is dry-joined with wooden dowels and exposed tenon joints—hallmarks of Rivadossi’s practice. The geometry of the base is composed of stacked elements, creating a quiet rhythm of verticals and horizontals. This architectural arrangement recalls ancient carpentry traditions while remaining resolutely modern in tone. The tabletop is thick and well-balanced, floating just above the legs with subtle shadow lines at the edges. Nothing feels superfluous. Every line and joint is purposeful, reflecting the workshop’s ethos of material-led design.
The table’s composition emphasizes durability, calm, and tactile richness—core elements of Rivadossi’s language. It serves as both a functional object and an invitation to slow down and observe craft.
Condition
The table is in good vintage condition with some minor wear and tear due to its age. -
