Italian Walnut Writing Desk, circa 1950

An Italian 1950's charming and elegant walnut writing desk, Tuscany, Italy, circa 1950. This piece is a fine example of Italian mid-century craftsmanship, blending organic shapes with a functional, minimalist structure. The desk is crafted from solid walnut and features a distinctive architectural silhouette with tapered, slightly outplayed legs. The design includes two drawers with subtly curved fronts, accented by original ornamental brass handles. The writing surface is protected by a sleek clear glass top, with the wood underneath painted black, giving the appearance that the glass is black. A lower curved shelf provides additional storage space and structural stability. Its compact proportions make it an ideal choice for a sophisticated home office or a stylish bedroom vanity. Finished all - around, the desk can float beautifully in the living room as much as the home office or bedroom.
