Description
This striking piece showcases Springer's signature blend of bold geometry and luxurious materials. The base is formed by intersecting, sculptural elements in highly polished brass, creating a dynamic, architectural profile that is both minimalist and glamorous. The clear glass top appears to float above the base, resting on stunning quality lucite supports emphasizing the clean lines and giving the table a light, airy presence despite its strong sculptural form.
Typical of Springer's work in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the craftsmanship is meticulous: crisp edges, flawless polishing, and a carefully balanced composition that reads as both functional furniture and modernist sculpture. The table functions beautifully as a console in an entry hall, behind a sofa, or as a dramatic display surface in a living space, complementing a range of interiors from pure mid-century to contemporary.
As a Karl Springer piece from circa 1980, this console is not only an elegant design object but also a collectible example of late 20th-century American decorative arts, reflecting the designer’s lasting influence on high-end modernist interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
