Les 2 Potiers, Michelle and Jacques Serre French Ceramic Tile Top Side Table in black iron frame. This side table features the iconic colorful ceramic tiles in the colors used often by Les 2 Potiers and is signed on the underside of the table with their name and the location of their studio while they worked together.
The couple, Jacques Serre and Michelle Bargoin, met in 1952. Jacques enrolled at the Clermont-Ferrand School of Fine Arts that same year, and Michelle at the Bourges School of Fine Arts in 1953, where she notably studied under the ceramist Jean Lerat, who introduced her to pottery. A similar table is seen on p50 of Les 2 Potiers by Thomas Leporrier.
