At over 10 feet long this massive French solid oak trestle base table is an absolute showstopper. Dating to the late 19th century it is a magnificent example of skilled craftsmanship. The 3 ½” thick top consists of four solid planks and is the perfect scale over its hefty base. At over 10 feet long and 3 feet wide the tabletop rests on a trestle base composed of 3 colossal turned baluster supports joined by a wide stretcher running the distance on either side. The clean line of the top is wonderfully harmonized by the roundness of the shaped legs and has exceptional wood grain, butterfly joinery, exposed dowels, and a warm great patina throughout. This versatile table has character and would make a statement in a country home, an elegant setting, or would harmonize well in a modern interior. Any kind of dinner service will be enhanced by the simplicity of this table that is sure to stand up to no end of use.
