Description
This striking coffee table is a definitive piece from the Æra Nomadica collection by Moroccan-French designer Moulay Hafid Sdikiene for Aulyom Studio. The table embodies Sdikiene’s vision of furniture as a nomadic installation, blending ancient material palettes with futuristic architectural precision.
The piece features a substantial circular top of Nero Marquina marble, a high-quality Spanish limestone prized for its deep black hue and subtle white veining. A perfectly executed circular groove is carved into the marble surface, housing a solid brass sphere that serves as a kinetic and meditative focal point.
The top is supported by a monolithic cylindrical base crafted from speckled pink sandstone (grès), providing a warm, earthy contrast to the cold density of the stone. A signature design detail is the visible brass hinge hardware on the base, reflecting the collection's theme of movement and mechanical tension.
Each component of this table is produced in France using advanced 5-axis CNC technology to achieve architectural precision, then hand-finished to preserve the unique natural character of the stone. - More Information
