Description
Napoleon III Sormani 'Neoclassical' Jardiniere Table A French-polished mahogany Louis XVI manner metamorphic gueridon-to-jardiniere. Ormolu mounts, foot caps, frieze moldings, gallery, knobs, and scrolled inlay on its removable planting container cover. A highly decorative chair side or bedside lamp table, when not in use as a planter. Attributed to Paolo Sormani, born Venice 1817; died Paris 1877. A three-tiered turret-cornered chairside or bedside table is also offered in our site; bearing the remains of a P. Sormani label.

Period furniture and decoration spanning four centuries and three continents, galleried in a 1754 National Register of Historic Places house in Woodbury; Connecticut's long established "Antiques Capital”. Five decades of antiques collecting experience in a succession of Historic Register homes in Virginia, New York, and Connecticut; and a 1901 beaux arts building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Open Thursday through Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment. -
