GILTWOOD CONSOLE TABLE OF FAUX BAMBOO-FORM WITH MARBLE TOP

A fabulous giltwood console table with a rectangular marble top above an angular frieze and four columnar supports. The legs are expertly carved to simulate bound groupings of bamboo joined by a low H-form stretcher of similar form, the whole raised on black block feet. The frieze is enriched with a continuous band of repeating carved acanthus ornament beneath the marble.

Condition: Overpaint to gilding in a few areas. Joint craquelure. Replaced marble top with extensive deep scratches in the surface throughout. Proper right upper edge has a section of replaced acanthus embellishment molding. Sturdy and ready to place.
