Neoclassical Tripod Gueridon Tables, Italy, Early 19th Century
-
Description
Italian neoclassical gueridon tables, likely from the late 18th to early 19th century. Each table features a circular top supported by three finely sculpted satyr figures -mythological creatures symbolising rustic vitality - rendered with remarkable anatomical detail and expressive posture. The satyrs' legs transition seamlessly into cabriole supports, terminating on a shaped tripod base. A carved frieze of Greek key motifs and central rosettes encircles the apron, emphasising classical elegance and symmetry.
The tables retain a beautifully aged finish in earthy ochres and verdigris tones, enhancing their sculptural quality and evoking the romanticism of antiquity. Priced per piece. -
