Pair of antique English Neoclassical style ormolu mounted pedestals

This fine pair of 19th Century pedestals are of square form, and each crafted in mahogany wood. The pedestals feature square, stepped bases with ormolu banding all around, leading to tapered square columns. The front of each of the columns is inlaid with rectangular panels of satinwood and mahogany bordered in ormolu, which leads to an upper ormolu medallion depicting the gods Sirius and Orion. Above and behind the medallions, the capitals are formed of ormolu in the square Ionic order. Above the capitals is a frieze of ormolu vases, and the pedestals are surmounted by square sheets of veined marble.
