Pennsylvania Queen Anne Candlestand #1
-
Description
A mahogany tilt-top 'dish rim' candle stand with 'birdcage' to allow swivelling. Single board top with turned pedestal in the manner of other tables of Lancaster and York County origin. Tripod Queen Anne snake feet. Every hand-planed, hand-carved and hand-turned component, as well as hardware, appear original and appropriately period; including the spider and early braced leg repairs. Quite possibly by the same maker as the slightly larger candle stand #2 we simultaneously offer; together they could constitute a fraternal non-identical collector's pair.
Candlestands #1 and #2 are pictured together in the last image of this listing. -
