Provençal Walnut Console Table with Two Drawers, Louis XV Style, 20th Century
-
Description
A finely made Provençal console table in solid walnut, crafted in the Louis XV style during the 20th century. The piece is traditionally pegged in construction and opens with two shaped drawers, each fitted with elegant bronze handles that complement the warm tone of the wood.
The façade features a softly contoured apron with carved detailing at the center, while the slender cabriole legs lend the console a graceful, light silhouette typical of Provençal interpretations of Louis XV design. The walnut surface displays a rich, aged patina, intentionally finished in the old style to evoke the character of earlier examples.
Marked on the back Richelieu Furniture, indicating workshop or maker attribution, the console is in good overall condition with sound structure and attractive surface wear. Versatile in scale and function, it is well suited for use in an entryway, living room, or bedroom, offering classic regional elegance with reliable 20th-century craftsmanship.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
