Scarpa Dining Table TL59 - 1975

This remarkable round dining table is designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Poggi in 1975. It's a very rare piece by one of the most famous designer duos of the 21st century. On top of the bronze table base rests a smoked glass tabletop, which is slightly transparent. It's an elegant piece that would fit well in a Hollywood Regency inspired interior. Suitable as a dining table, but can also be used as a side table or desk. The item shows slight damage at the edge of the tabletop, as can be seen from the photos.

Afra and Tobia Scarpa are award-winning postmodern Italian architects and designers. They both studied at the Venice Institute of Architecture. The couple opened their own design office in circa 1960. It was one of the most successful and well-known professional studios of its time. Together they worked on many innovative projects on the industrial design scene.
