Description
A striking pair of sculptural brass side tables designed by Silas Seandel, embodying the organic, hand-worked aesthetic that defined American Studio Craft metalwork of the 1970s. Each table is fabricated from formed and welded brass sheets, displaying fluid, biomorphic contours and softly undulating surfaces. The tops feature freeform silhouettes reminiscent of natural erosion or molten metal, while the sides reveal subtle vertical folds and hand-shaped planes that catch and reflect light beautifully. The surfaces exhibit a richly developed patina with warm golden tones, areas of amber depth, and natural oxidation consistent with age and artisanal fabrication. The hollow construction provides substantial visual weight without excessive mass.
The pair presents with complementary but distinct forms, allowing them to function together as a dynamic sculptural grouping or separately as side tables or pedestals. A strong example of Brutalist and Studio Craft design, ideal for interiors seeking statement pieces with artistic presence. -
