Description
An exceedingly rare Tapio Wirkkala coffee table model 9020 aka Reindeer Antlers due inspiration behind the design taken from Reindeers native to Lapland where Tapio Wirkkala spent much of his time designing in solitude. The elm frame is toped with a slightly smoky glass surface allowing the beauty of the structure to be seen from all angels. A brilliant elegant design that will elevate any interior.
The table is in its beautiful original condition. Stamped with manufacturer´s stamp on the bottom.
Rarely does a designer command such an expansive talent and career as Wirkkala did. Inspired by nature and armed with exceptional understanding of geometry and ratios, his designs literally shaped much of our daily lives.
Designs ranging from daily items such as money, jewelry , cutlery, working tools, furniture, logos, etc. to purely artistic creations.
You name it, he designed it!
He tackled and mastered all workable materials like marble and stone, he also used wood, fabric, glass, ceramics, metals and plastic. He did it all and can deservingly be named the da Vinci of Finnish design. -
