Description
Two-tier coffee table by California designers, Hendrik Van Keppel and Taylor Green ( V.K.G ) for Mueller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (ca. 1950s, USA).
Composed of an ebonized walnut frame whose lower tier's spindle-constructed surface offers an aesthetic lightness in contrast to the highly stylized top comprising six inset white vitrolite glass panels.
Sizable piece offering ample storage/surface space.
Very good, vintage condition with light scuffing/general wear to the ebonized stain. The vitrolite glass panels show no losses, though one panel is a tinge darker than the others (more pronounced in images vs. in person). Based on the few examples seen (this is a scarcely seen model), slight tonal variations in the glass is common.
H: 16" x L: 53" x D: 36"
Height to lower spindled tier: 9.13"
Each vitrolite glass panel is 16" square -
