Description
Warren McArthur custom ordered console/display table for the B&M Department Store of Peoria, Illinois with its attached Rome NY order label dated 2/35.
The standard dimensions of the model 1642-5 are 24 x 60 x 28" H.
This table has the same aluminum frame base but 3.5" higher to the top of the wood and 32.25" to the top of the glass.
The 3/4" thick glass is nicely finished with notched corner top edges, a detail that would be typical McArthur or a similarly detail conscious glass shop.
The B&M building in Peoria was a downtown icon from the 1890s until it was razed in 1953.
It is unusual to find custom Warren McArthur Corporation furniture with its order label in place
The table is in very good condition. -
