Description
Although small in size, its message is loud and clear. The LOVE brooch is 18K yellow gold with a carved coral heart. Signed Cartier and copyright logo A. Cipullo on back.
The rare and highly coveted iconic image was designed by the great designer Aldo Cipullo for Cartier around 1970. Aldo Cipullo was born in Italy in 1936 and was inspired to design jewelry by his father. He emigrated to the United States in 1961 and immediately began to work for prestigious houses such as Tiffany, David Webb , Cartier and eventually opened his own atelier in 1974. He is most well known for his famous LOVE bracelet which is still as much in fashion today as it was forty years ago. He once quoted , "life without love is nothing". He passed at an untimely young age of 48 but his designs are still highly sought after by collectors around the world. -
