Emil Stejnar

Austrian, 1939
Born in Vienna, Austria in 1939, Emil Stejnar became famous for his Space Age era lighting design. Initially trained as a silver and goldsmith, Stenjar emigrated to Sweden and became occupied with the study of stars and the occult. During the 1950s and 1960s, Stejnar designed several pendant lamps, ceiling lights and sconces for Viennese lighting manufacturer Rupert Nikoll. Stejnar's most famous design (which is often replicated) is the sputnik lamp. Emil Stejnar lighting lamps chandeliers & pendants and design remain popular worldwide.
