Calderwood Gallery is an internationally-known resource for original French Art Deco (1910-1950) furniture by renowned designers. The gallery was founded in 1982 by Janet and Gary Calderwood, joined some years later by their son, Chris Calderwood. The gallery has a vast inventory of works by Ruhlmann, Dufrene, Jallot, Follot, Arbus, Leleu, Dominique, Sue et Mare, and their contemporaries from the first half of the 20th century.

Calderwood Gallery has participated in major art fairs in New York, Philadelphia, Palm Beach, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Works from their collection have been featured in books on Art Nouveau, Art Deco, French Forties, Jacques Adnet, Rene Prou, Paul Follot, Dominique, and Edgar Brandt. The gallery has also loaned pieces to museums for exhibition.

Gary Calderwood, also a classically trained photographer (he studied with two masters, Minor White and Ansel Adams and had a prior 15-year career as a commercial photographer), has collected photography for many years. And the Calderwood Gallery Photography inventory represents the visual history of the 20th Century. And much of it represents the emergence of photography as an art form.

Calderwood Gallery was honored to be selected one of "The World's Best Antique Shops" by Judith Miller of the Telegraph UK.
